Pure essential oils with natural soy wax

Essential Oils  are highly concentrated extracts from herbs, flowers, seeds, and trees, and are derived by a physical process, such as distillation or cold-pressing. These potent oils contain vitamins, hormone-like properties, minerals, and natural antiseptics. The use of essential oils to restore and enhance health and beauty is known as Aromatherapy.

ESSENTIAL OILS vs. PREMIUM FRAGRANCE OILS
In general, candles made with synthetic fragrance oils tend to be more affordable than those made with essential oils and provide a much stronger aroma. There are popular scents, like Blueberry Muffin and Apple Cider, that can only be found in a fragrance oil. These types of scents simply cannot be found naturally in essential oils. Unfortunately, manufacturers of fragrance oils do not have to disclose the ingredients used in making their fragrances, per the FDA. Many candles companies use very inexpensive, petroleum-based fragrance oils that contain a neurotoxin called phthalates. This is one of the many reasons it is important to buy soy candles from an American company with a stellar reputation for quality products and green business practices, like Universol Aromas Soy Candle Company. We use premium, bath and body-safe, phthalate-free fragrance oils to scent our Premium Scented line of soy candles.

Essential oils are much lighter in aroma and are thought to be more healthy for one’s burning environment and for the planet. There are different grades of essential oils, and as with all things, the better ones tend to be more expensive, like the therapeutic-grade essential oils. In some cases, the harvesting of plant and flower materials can cause damage to the environment. This is because it can take hundreds of pounds of plant matter to produce only a single ounce of essential oil. Some materials used to create essential oils, such as certain types of sandalwood, are now endangered from the over-harvesting.

At UniversolAromas.com, we like to provide our customers with both options; we let you decide.

CONTRAINDICATIONS/CAUTIONS (Information is from The Aromatherapy Book, by Jeanne Rose)
Because essential oils can produce physical and mental changes, AVOID USE during pregnancy! It is important to ALWAYS do a patch test on your skin, on your forearm for example, with any product before applying it to other areas of your body. It is important to dilute essential oil in a carrier liquid, such as water or jojoba oil, before applying to the skin, especially if you have sensitive skin or a history of allergies. Always keep essential oils away from eyes and in general, away from any mucus membranes in general. Keep essential oils out of reach and away from children and pets. Keep your essential oils fresh and potent by leaving the bottles tightly capped and away from heat and light. Please use common sense when using essential oils and if any problems should occur, consult your physician.

INHALATION THERAPY
Taking deep breaths of essential oil extracts is a common method in helping treat mental and physical ailments. The inhaled essential oils reach the body through the nose and mouth, the lungs, the bloodstream, and then effect the limbic system of the brain by causing a release of hormones and neurochemicals that can produce mental, emotional and physical responses. When using essential oils to help with mental problems, inhale through the nose. When using essential oils to help with respiratory problems, inhale through the mouth and nose.
